N.Z. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. MISS BEVERLEY WINS FINAL. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. The New Zealand Junior hardcourt tennis championships were continued yesterday. Fou” of the championship competitions were completed. , The winners of championship titles were as follows: — Boys’ Singles.—J. Stevens (Auckland). Girls’ Singles.—Miss M. Beverley (Waikato). Boys’ Doubles—J. Stevens and J. W. Gunn (Auckland). Girls’ Doubles. —Misses D. Dickey and J. Senior (Canterbury). Waikato Player’s Success. In the girls’ singles championship between Miss M. Beverley (Waikato) and Miss N. Sullivan (South Canterbury), the first-named won a hardfought contest, 6 —5, G —s. Miss' Beverley displayed a first-class' variety of strokes, which kept her opponent on the move throughout, Miss Sullivan fighting back splendidly on both hands, considering the amount of ground she was forced to cover. Miss Sullivan possessed the better backhand, but it was Miss Beverley’s variety and placement of shots which proved the determining factor.
