STRONG IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
FEDERAL TREATMENT RESENTED
STATE PREMIER’S OPINION.

The Premier, Mr R. L. Butler, speaking at Owen-, said if the people of South Australia had an opportunity of expressing their opinion on the question of secession from the Federation they would do as the people o i Western Australia had done. Ite was sorry to have to make such a statement. hut he interpreted the feeling of the people of South Australia as one of grave resentment against the treatment meted out to them by the Commonwealth Government. He added: “But any action taken by my Government will be to save the Federation, not to smash it.”
