CROQUET AFTERNOON.
FRANKTON CLUB. The members of the Frankton Croquet Club were entertained by their president, Mrs F, Roberts, on Wednesday afternoon at the pavilion. Progressive croquet was played, besides various competitions. During the afternoon tea recess Airs Buckland (vice-president), thanked their hostess for the most enjoyable afternoon, and after the singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” competitions were resumed. The winners ■of the croquet were: Airs Middleton and Airs Halberg; zig-zag, Airs Alarining; golf, Mrs Broclcelsby; target, Mrs Brough; tip-ball, Airs Grant. Airs Roberts was wearing a pretty green georgette l'rock, and others present were:—Airs Auckland, Airs Belgrave, Airs Davis, Airs Wright, Airs Denz, Airs Wigzell, Airs Andrew, Mrs Harris, Airs Snowden, Airs Alanning, Mrs Brough, Mrs Larney, Airs Carroll, Airs Grant, Airs Waddell, Airs Halberg, Airs Aliddleton, Airs Brockelsby, Aliss Goulam, Aliss Adams (Auckland). WHATAWHATA FUNCTION. Members of the AVhatawhata Croquet Club spent a very happy afternoon on Thursday, on the Ngahinapourl croquet lawns. A’arious games and competitions were played and a delicious afternoon tea served.
Airs F. Alagner, on behalf of the Whatawhata members, thanked the Ngahinapouri ladies for arranging such an enjoyable afternoon.
