CLOTHING FOR THE NEEDY
CHURCH GUILD’S WORK. SEWING MACHINE WANTED. Useful work in alleviating- distress in the community is being done by the Church of Christ, Laities’ Sewing Guild, through the distribution of apparel made by the ladies. Throughout 11 1 o year this body of women is at work, and although they do not often appear in 1 lie public eye, their activities are of inestimable benefit to the more unfortunate families in the town. The guild purchases their own materials, and fashions them into many garments, many of which are handed to the Welfare League. With a view to lightening their work, and at the same time widening the scope of their operations, the ladies are now appealing to the public for a sewing machine | which would serve a very useful i purpose indeed. The community | service being rendered by Ihe guild makes their appeal worthy of the i fullest support, and they are making I their request, ronthlenl that it will | not go unanswered. Anyone desirous i of helping in this direction is asked to j communicate with Mrs ,1. Make, East Street, CiAUdfiJAmlSu 01’ ..JPastor J .Salisbury.
