ANNUAL CONFERENCE ENDS. AUCKLAND, Friday. The 17th annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party concluded last evening. The 'following resolutions were passed:— “That this conference protests against the Unemployment Board calculating pensions as part of the income when determining the right of any of the family being given employment under the board’s regulations." “That this conference expresses sincere sympathy with the unemployed workers now in prison, and their wives and families, and strongly urges on the Government that they should be released.” At the morning session of the conference a letter from Mr. G. S. Morris, chairman of the Newton School Committee, was read, expressing the thanks of Labour members of school committees for the fight the Labour Party had made in the House of Representatives in the cause of education, and especially for its resistance to the raising of the school entrance age. POLICY OF RE-CONSTRUCTION. IF RETURNED TO POWER. THE PROPOSALS OUTLINED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Friday. Details of the policy of reconstruction which the Labour Party would put Into operation if. it became the Government were made available this afternoon in the report of a special committee appointed by the Dominion Conference. The proposals include: Immediate control by the State of the banking system. The rc-adjustment of mortgages. Guaranteed prices for primary products. Orderly internal marketing at guaranteed prices. The fostering of secondary industries. The organisation of productive and development work. A roduclion in I lie working hours. Guaranteed wages and salaries in accord with national production. The conversion by negotiation of the oversea debt. Negotiation for a reduction or cancellation of the war debt.
