TAXI-DRIVER HELD UP.

THREATENED WITH REVOLVER. —- ATTACK BY TWO YOUNG MEN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Friday. The latest development In the orlme epidemic was an attempt by two men to rob a taxi-driver, Thomas Hyde, on a lonely road near Wakarl last night. Hyde was engaged by two young l men to drive them about, a mile past Wakari. In a lonely spot he was ordered by one, who presented a revolver, to get out, but while the other man was between the taximan and the weapon, engaged in searching the driver’s pockets, Hyde struck Out, whereupon both decamped. They got nothing but a matchbox, though Hyde had £6 on him. The police have a good desoriptioa of the young men.
