After more than a week of travel, “The sign of the Cross” Roman chariot, en route overland from Sydney to Melbourne, recently arrived in Canberra. With its three horses cantering abreast up the streets and its driver attired in the uniform of a Roman Prefect the chariot provided an interesting contrast with modern means of transportation.
