TE AROHA JOCKEY CLUB. TO-MORROW’S PROGRAMME. THE FIELDS REVIEWED. THe 'annual meeting of the Te ■riroha Jockey Club will open to-mor-row and conclude on Monday. Throughout excellent fields are engaged and the racing promises to bo of a high standard. The track is reported to be in excellent order. Arrangements for the win and place betting system have been completed and betting will be conducted with the one totalisator house, the win machine being at one end of the building and the place machine at the other. Following are the fields with a review of the fields by “Martian": 11 .BO i

There are some promising two-year-olds In tills event who have recent racing to commend them and when heads are turned for home the leading trio may comprise DEPUTY RULER KING MESTOR GAY SHEILA C.B

A wealth of recent form lies behind the prospects of the majority of entrants for Cup honours and while

indications are that it will 'be a fairly even betting race those to find most favour may be KING’S KNAVE SUNNY SKY ‘INFLATION

Wth the big field engaged here post positions will materially assist the prospects of candidates. Several promising Te Rapa representatvcs are engaged, but final choice may lie between WOODFULL PROLYXO MOONFLEET. 3.40

Several engaged in the concluding event claim prior engagements, but those to command the consideration of investors may bo EXAGGERATION CHIEF JOY AG A KHAN CUP HORSES SCRATCHED. FIJI FOREGOES ENGAGEMENT. ROYAL ARTIST ALSO WITHDRAWS. The Herries Memorial Cup candidates, Fiji and Royal Artist have been scratched for their engagements. It is understood that Fiji . struck himself while working at Marton just before he was to have left for Te

Aroha. Royal Artists’ withdrawal is due to the fact that he has not been going well and appears to have become sore. As a result of the defection of Royal Artist it is probable that K. Voitre will now have the mount on King’s Knave. The Tiger has been scratched for the Waihou Handicap and Solomon for the Juvenile Handicap. THE FINAL GALLOPS. SOME GOOD PERFORMANCES. (by Telegraph.—Special to Times.) TE AROHA, Friday. For the final gallops this morning a large number of horses was seen out. "The trestles were out 40 feet on the course proper. Thespis moved attractively over six furlongs. Grand Tea pulled up sound after two rounds. Marechal finished a length in front of Gibralta over six furlongs in 1.21, and Prince Colossus executed a strong gallop over a similar distance, finishing well. Zane Grey and Glenromney __ were together over four furlongs in 545. King Mestor and Arise sprinted nicely, and Unoco skipped over five furlongs, showing plenty of dash. King’s Archer went a round at better than half pace, and will be a satrter on the second day. Inflation moved freely over a round and appears to be none the worse after his long distance travelling. Trishna is looking exceptionally bright. Gay Idea is sprinting well. Chief Cook showed pace over the last three furlongs of the circuit. Very serviceable work, with the pace on, was executed by Ruri, Saint Musk, Alloy, Trishna, Moonfleet, Ida Merllng, Miss Lorarine, Tin Lap, Habit, March Alone, Desert Star, Don’t Lap, Chief Joy, Aga Khan and Lady’s Boy.
