THE ABBOTT CUP. retained by waiiiou. In response to a challenge for the Abbott (hip Waihou met Matangi at the Te Aroha Showground on Wednesday afternoon. The Matangi players were R. H. Townsend (captain), r. Hinton, Ned Brown and Y. Ghitty, Waihou being represented hv A. MoNicol (captain), Alan Wight, D. G. gpence and M. Fitzgerald. Mr E. J. Aislahlo acted as referee. Waihou were allowed one point in the handicap. The game ended in favour of Waihou by 7 to 5 and they retained :he cup. Kor Waihou Wight (2), McNleol (3) and Spence (I) scored: Malangi's score being registered by Ghitty (-1), ind Brown (i).
