WEATHER CONDITIONS.
RAIN AND FOG. Heavy rain yesterday was followed last night by the thickest fog seen in Hamilton this year. Conditions were sultry during the morning, but the air became cooler after the rain, and the atmosphere was quite cold early this morning. The pastures and root crops are looking particularly well after the recent rains, and the latest downpour should ensure abundant growth during tli3 autumn. Gardens also, although looking very well, will be refreshed by the rain. For the 24 hours ended at 9 o’clock this morning .60in. was recorded by a looal resident
