WAIKATO LAMBS.
SMITHFIELD DISPLAY.
EXHIBITOR’S REPORT.
* ‘STANDARD MAINTAINED.” An official report in connection with the Waikato Show lambs which were sent to Smithfleld to be judged on the hooks has been received from Messrs W. and >R. Fletcher (N.Z.), Ltd., by Mr C. E. Goosman, secretary of * the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association. The report states that the quality of the lambs was well up to the usual standard and that there was no other display of fat lambs that would bear comparison with that sent forward from the Waikato Show, The Show was held at Smithfleld on January 10 and created the same interest as in previous years. it was now an established annual event and all those Interested in the development of stock regarded it as a reliable indication of the progress made and being made in the North Island. The standard of the show left nothing to be desired. The judges and other authoritative spectators were unanimous that the dressing at the works, and handling in general called for congratulation to all. The awards were as follows: Three crossbred lambs, . longwool or longwool cross: D. B. Livingstone, 1; N. K. Taylor, 2. Three crossbred lambs, down or shortwool crosses: D. E. Finlayson, 1; W. A. E. McCutcheon, 2. The results of the group class have already been published.
