TRESPASS ON COURSE.

SECRETARY OF CLUB FINED. NAPIER, Monday. iperciVal Rhys Wingrove, secretary lot the Tailwaggers’ Club, Wellington, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court before Mr A. M. Mowlcm, S.M.. this morning that, being a person excluded by regulations under authority of the Gaming Act, lie did trespass on the Napier Park racecourse while the same was being used for a race meeting. On behalf of the defendant, his solicitors wrote that defendant was the secretary of an organisation consisting of if)00 dog lovers. Part of the funds of the club was obtained hy oollections, which were taken up by an Alsatlon dog, the property or the club. The dog had a licence to collect. Defendant visited Napier in connection with the work of the club and was given a note signed by the treasurer of the Napier Park Racing Club admitting him to the races free. Admission was for the defendant and the dog. He attended the races solely for the purpose of collecting funds for the club. He did not bet, nor was he in a position to bet. Senior-Sergeant W.
