RESCUE OF LADY BAILEY.

PETROL EXHAUSTED. DRIFTED TO THE EASTWARD. LONDON, Jan. 19. The Paris Correspondent of the Times states that French Army airmen found Lady Bailey while camel scouts were -still scouring the desert on which she had landed with only one hour's supply of petrol left. Tho spot is 1450 miles south of Oran. Apparently tho airwoman had drifted eastward 30 miles for every 100 miles headway she had made. She had the option of returning to And a landmark or continuing in the hope of reaching tho Niger before her petrol was exhausted. AVIATRIX FAR SPENT. WORN-OUT AND FEVERISH. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Jan. 21, 12.45 p.m.) PARIS, Jan. 20. In an interview one of Lady Bailey’s rescuers, said: “Lady Bailey was very pale and worn-out by the effort of flying when she was not well. She was only able to .crawl out of the cockpit with great difficulty. She had eaten practically nothing since she landed, and was very feverish, but smiled and waved her hand when she saw us."
