MATAMATA NOTES.
GARDEN PARTY.
A very successful garden party, organised by members of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild and several Okauia ladies was held, by kind permission of .Mr J. Wallace, at the Crystal Springs on Saturday. Stall holders wero:— Material and toys, Mrs Prowse, Miss Edgely and members of the Girls’ Club; bran tub, Mrs AVrlgley; and afternoon tea, Miss Duxfleld, Mesdames Warren and Wooderson. Competitions were won by Misses Edgeley and Simpson, Mesdames Blennerhaussett and Jagger. CATHOLIC DANCE. A successful social was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening in aid of the funds of the Catholic Church. Shalfoon’s Orchestra, of Rotorua, supplied the music. Items were rendered during the evening by Mrs ,T. Montague, pianoforte solo; Miss Dankier, recitation; Misses de Silva and W. Connolly, songs; and W. Butler, step dance. PERSONAL. Mrs A. J. Tong is visiting Rotorua. Mrs R. Woodroofe, Junr., of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs R. Woodroofe.
