SOUTH AUCKLAND SHIELD. FIRST CHALLENGE OF SEASON. TAUMARUNUI BAT WELL. The first challenge match of the season for the South Auckland Shield was played in Hamilton to-day between Y Waipa (holders) and Taumarunui. Y Taumarunui batted first and compiled d 163, Clough and Winger batting well and adding 50 for the third wicket. E. G. (Del) Carter bowled very well and was always troublesome.
