A TERRORIST PLOT. CAMPAIGN OF MURDER. GANDHI’S STUBBORN STAND. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. BOMBAY, Nov. 24. The police unearthed a widespread terrorist plot, ‘leading to the arrest of six men and the seizure of a quantity of arms and ammunition. Plans had been made to murder Government and police officials and to organise bank robberies and hold-ups; also to import firearms. CALCUTTA, Nov. 24. It is authoritatively stated .that there is no truth in rumours that Sir Samuel Hoare, Secretary of State for India, has agreed to Gandhi’s release from prison. The Viceroy, Viscount Wlllingdon, has made it clear that Gandhi can secure his release only by dissociating himself from the civil disobedience movement. It is understood that Gandhi has informed the Government that he stands committed to disobedience, both as an article of faith and as a political weapon, till the Government concedes fully the demands of the Indian National Congress. LONDON, Nov. 24. The India Round Table Conference to-day decided to sot up a small committee, over which Viscount Sankey will preside, to test the general principles regarding legislative relations between the centre and the provinces.
