WEDDING.

KING—SMITH. The marriage was solemnised In St. John’s Anglican Church, Te Awaniutu, between Minetta (Poppie) Smith, younger daughter of Mr R. Smith and the late Mrs Smith, of Wellington and late of Levin, and William King, younger son of the late Mr and Mrs A. King, Foxton. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. R. Wareing, M.A., assisted by the Rev. Clarke, Cambridge. The bride, was given away by her father and wore a gown of opaltinted satin beaute. The closely-fit-ting bodice was inset with honiton lace panels and was finished with satin rosebuds and pearl trimmings, the skirt falling in full flares. The tulle veil fell from a lace cap finished with orange,blossom, and the bouquet was of cream roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Flora Leitch, of Napier, who wore a frock of moonlight blue Swiss muslin, the bodice fitting closely, and the skirt gored and trimmed with small ru'ekings and frills. She wore a blue picture hat and carried a bouquet of love in the mist and pink sweet peas. A small maid, Dawn Cooney, of Frankton Junction, wore a prettily frilled pink sal in frock with silver trimmings, and head dress to tone. She carried a basket of pink sweet peas. Mr James Cusack, of Hamilton, acted as best man. During the service the organ was played by Mr Tuyrer, and the church was de'corated with lilies and roses.

The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s aunt, Mrs J. McPherson, of Balgawrie, Te Awamutu. Mrs McPherson received her guests wearing a frock of black marocaln, worn with a lace coatee, and bla'ck hat with touches of pale pink. Later In the afternoon Mr and Mrs King left for Palmerston and Wanganui, the bride travelling in a cream suit, cut on military lines, and worn with a cream felt hat. Their future home will be at the Ilutt.

Munro (Palmerston North), Mr and Mrs Kenneriy (Te Awamutu), Mrs and Miss Sole (Arapuni), Mrs and Miss Rushbrook, the Rev. and Mrs Wareing (Te Awamutu), the Rev. Clark (Cambridge), Mrs and Miss Farrell, Mrs Smith, Mr, and Mrs Foster (Te Awamutu), Mr J. W. Collings (Te Awamutu), Mr T. Collings (Te Awamutu), Mr T. Coupland (Te Awamutu), Mrs and Miss Cusack (Hamilton), Mr W. Brink worth (Matangi), Mr T. Cusack (Hamilton), Miss Ruth Johns (Hamilton).
