CAMBRIDGE TOWN CLOCK

QUESTION OF RE-ELECTION. At the monthly meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council on Thursday evening the matter of the re-erection of ihe town clock was raised by Cr. M. Wells. He contended that, despite the | attitude of the Department of Publio I Works In the past, the council should i again take action and write informing | the department that a certain amount I of money had been raised and assistance was required in tiie re-erection of the clock, to provide employment for unemployed tradesmen. He moved that the council ask the member for the district (Mr E. Lye) to apply to the department for the reinstatement of the clock. The motion was carried unanimously.
