INTERNATIONAL TRADE.
BRITAIN’S VOLUME. MAY BE DOUBLED IN 50 YEARS. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Conyrlgnt (Received Oct. 28, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 27. Britain’s international trade may double itself in fifty years, Dr. 11. Levinstein told the Imperial College of Science. He quoted figures showing that if the world raised its trade to British standards the world's commerce would he multiplied sixfold. If the trading capacity of the Asiatic equalled that or the African, the world's trade would increase 30 per cent. Russia’s efforts to increase her manufactures would ultimately beneilt the world. Dr. Hubert Levinstein was formerly managing director of Levinstein, Limited, and of British Dyestuffs Corporation, Limited. He has published a number of papers and addresses on technical themes. World Population Underfed. There was no overproduction of food, continued Dr. Levinstein, as the greater parL of the population of the world was underfed. The fall in commodity prices was originally due to the shortage of gold. Britain could easily pay her war debt to America by mining weaker ones than private enterprise was prepared to mine.
