A collective line of £6OOO has been imposed by the Bengal Government on the inhabitant? of the Chittagong town of Pahartali, scene of the recent terrorist outrage, and the seven surrounding villages. This action is in consequenoe of the failure of the Hindu residents to give the Government Information regarding the terrorists, whom they are suspected to be harbouring and assisting. The realisation of the fine has been postponed until December 1 in order to see whether the action of prominent Hindu inhabitants in forming associations to aid tlie Government to track the terrorists will prove effective.
