BOXING CONTEST.

WIN FOR PALMER. OUTPOINTS CHASTAIN. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyris-nt, SYDNEY, Oct. 25. At the Sydney Stadium, in a 12rounds boxing contest, Ambrose Palmer (12.1) outpointed Clyde Chastain (12.9). This was Palmer’s first appearance since July, when he was stopped by Stribllng. Chastain in the meanwhile had won every contest in which he engaged here since his arrival from America. Palmer was full of vigour, most -aggressive and much too good for Chastain, whose dofenoe was useless against the speedy Australian. Chastain was down for “seven" in the sixth round and had an eye cut in the seventh. He was severely .punished in the clinches. Nevertheless, he was very game and hung on well. The large crowd of spectators gave Palmer a great ovation.
