VICE-REGAL PARTY.
AT WELLINGTON RACES. Their Excellencies t f he GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, and the Lady Bledisloe, were present at the Wellington Racing Club’s first day’s racing, and were met by Mr Eric Riddiford, president, and Mrs Riddiford. Their Excellencies were accompanied by (Mrs Veal, Lieutenant John Biworthy, R.N., A.D.C., and Captain Tweedie, A.D.C., and Mr and Mrs Elworthy, Tirnaru, who are guests at Government House. Lady Bledisloe wore a lovely frock of wool georgette in periwinkle blue, under a coat of silver grey squirrel fur. Her turban hat was of the same blue colour, and her buttonhole was of palest pink carnations. Mrs Veal chose a Harris tweed coat trimmed with Tibet cat fur, over a blue grey frock, and blue hat. Mrs Riddiford wore a smalTTilack marocain frock inset with palest pink at the neckline, under a black facecloth coat trimmed with Persian lamb, and a black hat. Mrs Elworthy was In a Burgundy red tweed costume, with brown furs, and a red felt hat. Their Excellencies and guests from Government House were entertained at luncheon by the president.
