HAMILTON EAST AND FRANKTON. RELIEF WORK SUGGESTED. A suggestion that work on various unsewered areas in Hamilton East and Frankton should be gone on with under unemployment legislation was made by Cr. C. J. W. Barton at the meeting of the Borough Council last evening. Cr. Barton said the council had an excellent case to put before the Government and would no doubt be supported by the Health Department. The installing of sewers In the area was of the utmost importance. The chairman of the Works Committee, Cr. W. Bourne, said that he had intended bringing the matter up under the Relief Act legislation. The. borough had tho authority to ask for a poll. He deemed the matter urgent. A good many houses needed proper sewerage, and the work would give employment to a number of men. It could be done economically now. Tlie suggestion was referred to the Legal and Finance Committee for consideration.
