Lord Blanesburgh has telegraphed to Mr Stanley Bruce intimating that he has been elected honorary bencher, at Lincolns Inn. —Ottawa message. Mr P. W. Maddock, of Wellington, New Zealand manager for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Film Corporation, is. visiting Hamilton. Mr H. F. Nicoll, of Ashburton, president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference, left yesterday on a visit to England. Mr A. J. Toogood, of Wellington, an ex-president of the North Island Motor Union, is visiting Hamilton, and was present at the executive meeting of the Hamilton agency of the Auckland Automobile Association last evening. The Mount Albert (Auckland) Presbyterian congregation has unanimously decided to extend a call to the Rev. R. E. Evans, of Ilawera. It is understood lie lias signified bis willingness lo accept the invitation. Viscount Lyrnington, eldest son of the eighth Earl of Portsmouth, arrived at Auckland yesterday on 11.M.5. Dunedin. He made the trip from England as a guest on Hie warship, and will leave by the Mariposa to-day on his return to England through the United States. The Auckland city librarian and director of the Art Gallery, Mr John Barr, will leave for the United Stales by the Mariposa to-day, lo study library methods. Mr John Fuller, director of John Fuller and Sons, Ltd., arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa to-day from Sydney. After spending a few days in Auckland he will leave for the South.
