AUDIT ACT BREACHED. OFFICIAL INTIMATION. MR J. T. LANG’S REJOINDER. United Press Assn. —Klee. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, April 28. The Commonwealth Government today served notice on the Taxation Commissioner, Mr E. J. McMahon, requiring him to deliver within four days all taxation files and documents now in the possession of the State taxing authorities. It is understood that the Commissioner takes up the attitude that lie cannot produce the files or documents as they are not even available to him. The Auditor-General of New South Wales, Mr John Spence, has submitted a special report on the action of the Lang Government In withdrawing Treasury money from the banks m order to circumvent the Commonwealth and making payments by cash instead of cheque. This action, says Air Spence, is a general contravention of the Audit Act. The Premier, Mr J. T. Lang, in s statement in the Legislative Assembly, defended his own actions in paying money into the Treasury, lie declared that the Commonwealth Government s attitude had rendered the Audit Act Inoperative,

The Senate passed Hie Agreement Enforcement Act through all its stages on the voices in 30 minutes. A resolution to attach all State revenue, including £1,000,000 of liquoi fees, which will fall due shortly, will be introduced in both Houses next week.
