THE ESTIMATES ADOPTED. PROPOSED REDUCTION IN RATES. At a meeting of the Huntly Borough Council the estimates for the ensuing year were considered and adopted. The Mayor, Mr W. C. E. George, gave a notice of motion in connection with the striking of rates. It was proposed that a reduction in the general rate be made from 5 5-8 dto sd. The total amount of rate to be struck will be reduced from 9d to 8 3-8 d in the £.
