DUTY ON TEXTILES.
MANUFACTURERS' COMPLAINT, j COMMITTEE'S STATEMENT. (Onicial Wireless.) (Received April 28. 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, April 27. Replying to the woo! textile manufacturers’ request that the duty imposed under the Abnormal importations Act should be maintained at 20 per cent, ad valorem and yarns under the 10 per cent, category, thus reducing the duty from 50 per cent, imposed under the Abnormal Importations Act of November 20, the Import Duties Advisory Committee states it is not prepared at present to recommend any increase In the level of protection now afforded the industry as a whole.
