OLYMPIC GAMES.
AUCKLAND CENTRE’S PROTEST. AUCKLAND, Saturday. The following resolution was carried at a meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association: —This centre expresses strongest disapproval of the action of the New Zealand Council in disregarding the recommendations of its duly appointed selectors, and, further, emphatically endorses the recommendation of the selectors that Savidan should be the first, selection for the New Zealand ■ Olympic athletic, team.
PROTESTS IN THE SOUTH.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday
A motion that Miss Kench should not be sent to the Olympic Games to take part in Women’s athletic events was carried at a meeting of the Canterbury Centre of Ihe New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The Otago protest against what was stated to be the overriding of Messrs p. \v. Breen (Dunedin) and T. E. Henry (Auckland), the athletic selectors for the Olympic Games team, was supported by the committee, which also decided to nominate Mr C. H. Taylor as manager of the New Zealand team for the Games.
