A NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT.

LONDON, January 15

The Ministry of Labour has announced that the improvement in employment noticeable since September continued until Christmas. During the first three weeks of December unemployment fell 112,000 to 2,510,0J)0, of which 77,000 represented real Improvement. The remainder was due to the tightening up of the dole. The Ministry points out that the improvement was seasonal, ‘but was greater than for some .years, especially in the ooal-mining and cotton and engineering trades.
