ACCIDENTALLY SHOT.

DIES LATER IN HOBPITAL.

AUCKLAND, Tuesday

A girl aged 16 years, Miss Evelyn Adamson, was wounded in the forehead, following the discharge of a .22 pea-rifle carried by a boy who was engaged in shooting blackbirds.

Miss Adamson was engaged in picking loganberries with several other young people. She was working between the rows of fruit and Hubert Ha-ssett, aged 16, who had been shooting birds which were eating the ripened berries, was climbing through a row about 4 yards away. By some means the pea-rifle was accidentally discharged, Miss Adamson receiving the charge in the forehead: The girl dipd two hours after admission to the hospital.
