MR LAZZARINI DEFEATED

Another Lang plan candidate, Mr 11. P. Lazzarini, learned his fate to-day when the final distribution of preference votes for the Wcrriwa seat, New South' Wales, enabled Mr W. R. McNiooll (Country Party) to win by 1557 votes.

Mr Lazzarini has represented this constituency for many years. lie is an ardent supporter of Ihe Lang plan, and with Mr J. A. Beasley played a prominent part in securing the downfall of the Seullin Government.

The distribution of preference votes Ir. Reid, was completed to-night and the Lang plan candidate, Mr J. H. Gander, who was erroneously stated yesterday to havo been defeated, won tho seat from Mr R. N. Uebel (United Australia Party) by 7457 votes.

It is understood that Mr Gander, who is a billiard marker, expressed his willingness during the election campaign to resign the moment Mr Lang desired to enter Federal politics, which is believed to be imminent should Mr Lang be able to contest this safe Labour seat.
