PERSONAL.
The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, yesterday was sufficiently improved in health to visit the ground floor of Government House and pass among the staff. He lias to walk with the aid of two slicks, and is making a gradual recovery after being incapacitated for the last few weeks. In the afternoon His Excellency, accompanied by the Lady Bledisloe, enjoyed a motor run to Island Bay.
Bishop Williams, of Waiapu, paid his first official visit to Opotiki this week.
Mr W. M. Singleton, Director of the Dairy Division, was in Hamilton yesterday, on his way to Rotorua.
At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Wool Brokers’ Association Mr A. E. Mabin, of Messrs Levin and Co.. Wellington, was elected president, and Mr J. B. Moodie, of Messrs Dalgety and Co., Wellington, vice-president.
