I THE WAIKATO CLUB. PAST SEASON’S OPERATIONS. SPRING MEETING EVENTS. A meeting of the committee of the Waikato Trotting Club, held yesterday. was attended by Messrs H. W Burch president), .1. Dalgleish. S. J. Rawlinson, T. Clarkin. M. McKendry \. Livingstone and T. G. Reynolds secretary). The balance-sheet, which was presented, of the season’s operations showed a satisfactory result, considering the critical financial period which has been experienced. After writing-off depreciation amounting to £721 5s 5d there was a balance of expenditure . over Income of £1044 8s Bd. Government taxation amounted to £3786 13' ! while the stakes given at the three i meetings last season totalled £3697 I is 6d. i It was decided to reduce the pay- ’ ment to officials for the spring meeti Ing by 25 per cent. The introduction of a 5s tolalisator was discussed but no action was taken It was stated that city clubs were favoured for the instillation of such a unit of investment through extneslv-i patronage at their outside enclosure. Meeting on October 10. The following programme, with stakes totalling £895, was approved for the club’s spring meeting on Saturday, October 10:— Introductory Handicap (unhoppled horses), of £lOO, limit 3.50, 1| ' miles. Frankton Handicap, of £lOO, limit 3.3. H miles. Mark Memorial Handicap, of £225, limit 4.40. 2 miles. Hamilton Handicap (unhoppled i horses) of £llO. limit 3.45, 14 miles. Glaudelands Handicap of £llO, limit 4.50, 2 miles. Stewards’ Handicap, of £l4O, limit 2.19. I mile. President's Handicap, of £llO, limit 2.58, ij miles.
