I THE WAIKATO CLUB. PAST SEASON’S OPERATIONS. SPRING MEETING EVENTS. A meeting of the committee of the Waikato Trotting Club, held yesterday. was attended by Messrs H. W Burch president), .1. Dalgleish. S. J. Rawlinson, T. Clarkin. M. McKendry \. Livingstone and T. G. Reynolds secretary). The balance-sheet, which was presented, of the season’s operations showed a satisfactory result, considering the critical financial period which has been experienced. After writing-off depreciation amounting to £721 5s 5d there was a balance of expenditure . over Income of £1044 8s Bd. Government taxation amounted to £3786 13' ! while the stakes given at the three i meetings last season totalled £3697 I is 6d. i It was decided to reduce the pay- ’ ment to officials for the spring meeti Ing by 25 per cent. The introduction of a 5s tolalisator was discussed but no action was taken It was stated that city clubs were favoured for the instillation of such a unit of investment through extneslv-i patronage at their outside enclosure. Meeting on October 10.
