OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM H. NICHOLLS. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Mr William Henry Nicholls, one of the earliest settlers in the Mangere and Otahuhu districts, at the age of 86 years. Mr Nicholls saw -service during the Maori War and was engaged in several exploits in tile Waikato at that time. The longevity of Mr Nicholls’ family Is remarkable, there being alive one brother whose age is 90 and three sisters, whose ages are 75, 81 and 94. REV. ROBERT WOOD. WELLINGTON. Tuesday. The death occurred to-day of the Rev. Robert Wood, a well-known Presbyterian minister in Wellington. Mr Wood came to New Zealand about 40 years ago. FATHER J. GOGGAN. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A well-known figure in the Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Father .1. Goggan, died to-day. Father Goggan, who was in his 81st year, carried on active work until a few weeks ago. For the past live years lie was' in charge of St. Patrick's Church, Napier.
