The State Labour caucus approved of the Salaries Reduction Bill submitted by Mr Lang as part of ad economy campaign. The measure,, which Is being Introduced Into the Assembly to-day, provides that the salaries of judges, ministers, and members of Parliament, with those of Government officials, ha reduced to £SOO per annum. Civil Servants receiving between £5 and’£lo per week are being reduoed twenty per cent., but there is no reduction In wages of less than £5. An unemployment tfix of one shilling in the pound is also to be Imposed on those receiving more than £5. Judges' salaries range from £2600 to £3500. Thomas (Secretary for the Dominions) what communication he had had with the New South Wales Government regarding the constitutional position there, and whether he could make a statement thereon?

Mr Thomas said: “Certain representations have been made to me by the Agent-General by instructions from his Government. The matte? is still under my consideration.”
