REDUCTION OF BALARIEB. A SAVING OF £1,500,000. ECONOMY CAMPAIGN IN N.S.W. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright, (Received July 30, 8.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 30. The State Labour caucus approved of the Salaries Reduction Bill submitted by Mr Lang as part of ad economy campaign. The measure,, which Is being Introduced Into the Assembly to-day, provides that the salaries of judges, ministers, and members of Parliament, with those of Government officials, ha reduced to £SOO per annum. Civil Servants receiving between £5 and’£lo per week are being reduoed twenty per cent., but there is no reduction In wages of less than £5. An unemployment tfix of one shilling in the pound is also to be Imposed on those receiving more than £5. Judges' salaries range from £2600 to £3500. Copyright (Reoeived July 30, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, July 29. In .the House of Commons Mr G. Le M. Mander (Labour —Wolverhampton), asked Mr J. H. Thomas (Secretary for the Dominions) what communication he had had with the New South Wales Government regarding the constitutional position there, and whether he could make a statement thereon?
Mr Thomas said: “Certain representations have been made to me by the Agent-General by instructions from his Government. The matte? is still under my consideration.”
