NGARUAWAHIA REGATTA

THE ANNUAL MEETING. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of Hie Ngaruawahia Regatta Association. The report and balance sheet, as previously published, were adopted. The treasurer reported In full upon the financial position of the Association and suggested that considerable retrenchments be made in the expenditure and prize money. It was resolved that It be a recommendation to the incoming executive that it carry out the recommendations suggested In the report. Election of Officers. The officers elected were; —Patron, Sir Fredrick Lang; president, Mr A. Morris; secretary and treasurer, Mr 11. D. Sampson. The three retiring members, Messrs ;Blewden, Fraser and Loughnan were re-elected to the committee, together with 'Messrs Hickling and J. Cavanagh as new members. (Mr 11. Marsland was re-elected auditor. Tiio resignation of Mr 11. M. Thorpe, as secretary, was received with regret, and Mr 11. D. Sampson was appointed secretary. Regatta Day. A motion that the regalia lie held on St. Patrick’s Day was defeated. The fixing of Hie day was left In Hie hands of Hie committee
