GISBORNE RAILWAY.

LINKING WITH MAIN TRUNK. FAVOURED BY REFORM PARTY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Mr Coates stated further that these figures were compiled after full inquiry as to costs of construction, as estimated at that time, and of the anticipated revenue, and that they had been sufficiently encouraging to decide the Reform Government of the clay to proceed with linking up Gisborne with the Main Trunk railway system of the North Island. The statement was made by Mr Coates during the discussion of the district case in respect of railway connection with members, of the Gisborne Railway Cofnmittee.
