Speaking in the House of Commons on the Conservative motion to reject the third reading of the Electoral Reform Bill, Mr Winston Churchill, who supported the motion, appealed to the Conservative leaders to give attention to some plan of electoral reform. At the last election 20,000 votes secured the return of a Labour candidate, but it required 23,000 votes to elect a Conservative and 100,000 to elect a Liberal.
