THE OTTAWA CONFERENCE

WILL PROBABLY BE POSTPONED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. There is every possibility of the Empire Economic Conference, which was to have been held at Ottawa next August being postponed. Difficulties in the way of arranging representation have been experienced and in view of this it is unlikely that the conference will be held on the original date. The Prime Minister, the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes, In making this explanation this morning, said Australia could not send anyone to the conference at present, and it would be difficult for New Zealand to arrange for representation.
