Rain again curtailed ' the county Essex v. ■'Middlesex.— Essex, first innings, 135 (Peebles took six wickets for'6o runs); second innings, I'sl (Peebles took five wickets for 64). Middlesex, first innings, 139 (Palmer took four for 137); second innings, one for 148. Middlesex won by nine wickets. Lancashire v. Kent. —Lancashire, first Innings, 184 (E.' Tyldesley 70, Freeman took the 10 wickets) ; second innings, none for 84. Kent, first innings,nine for 285, declared (Woolley 108, Hopwood took six for 56). Kent won on the first innings. Gloucester v. Somerset. —Gloucester, first innings <214 (Dacre 64) ; Somerset, first innings, 31 (Hammond took four for 10 and Parker five for 11. Following on, Somerset lost two wickets for 36 runs. Gloucester won on the first innings. Glamorgan v. Hampshire.—Glamorgan, first innings, seven for 165, declared. Hampshire, first innings, two for 37. The match was drawn. Northants v. Sussex. —Northants, first innings, 331 (Cox 98, Timms 90, J. Lanbridge took five for 58). Sussex, first innings, five for 332 (Duleepsinhji 112, Cook 85). Sussex won on the first innings. Leicester v. Surrey. —Leicester, first innings 237. Surrey, first innings 86 (Snary took four for 23). Following on Surrey lost three wickets for 93 runs. Leicester won on the first Innings. Yorkshire v. Warwlokshrle.—York-shire,-first innings, eight for 468, declared (Holmes 250, Sutcliffe 129), Warwick, first innings, six. for 64. The match was drawn. Derby v. Worcester. —Derby, first innings 175 (Root took four for 30). Worcester, first innings, two for 160 (Nichol, not out, 80). The match was drawn. Nottingham v. Cambridge.—Nottingham, first, innings, 196 (Hazelrugg took six for 27) ; second innirigs, eight for 306, declared. Cambridge, first innings, 152; second innings, seven for 160. The match was drawn. Freeman Dismisses Side. Freeman’s full figures read: Twentysix overs, nine maidens. This is the third successive season he has taken all the wickets in a match, which constitutes a record. In 1930 he dismissed the Essex side and in 1929 Lancashire.
