AMERICANS AT WANGANUI. EVANS BREAKS RECORD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Thursday. At the athletic meeting D. Evans (Taihape) heat R. Kiser, the visiting American, by nearly 20 yards in the half-mile. It was announced that the time was im hi 4-ss, thus beating the present record made by Lloyd Hahn, the American runner, at Hawera by two seconds. In the 20 yards G. Simpson bettered the Australasian record by 2-ss, covering the distance in 21 2-ss. In tbe 100 yards Simpson won the final in 9 -i-ss. Kohe.rt, in an exhibition of putting the shot, bettered his previous best in the Dominion by 2Ain., with a distance of 50ft. GAin.
