FARMERS’ UNION.
PUTARURU WOMEN’S DIVISION. At the first meeting for the New Year of the Putaruru branch of the Women's Division, Mrs Campbell, president, presided over a fair attendance. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives'- of the late Mrs Sladegully and the late Mr Spain. The treasurer announced that alter paying expenses a balance of £ll is 8d was the result of the stall held at the annual picnic. This sum is to be handed to the local Farmers Union. The sum of £1 10s Gd was added to the Rest Room fund, being the proceeds of a guessing competit.on. Remits for conference were discussed and members were reminded of the general meeting to be held in Hamilton on March to. An effort Is to be made to commence a women's exchange at the next meeting, and members are requested to bring anything they have for sale, such as cakes, produce or sewing, the division retaining only a small comnns sion. This exchange has been successfully tried at other branches. Afternoon tea, provided toy Mesdames H. Baldwin, Voyce and Voycy, brought themeetmg_to_a_close.
