DELHI, Feb. 18

For nearly four hours yesterday the Viceroy and Gandhi had a frank talk on India’s constitutional progress. The talk is to bo resumed to-day. There are indications that Gandhi is eager for a compromise involving co-operation in resuming in India the work of the Round-table Conference. Owing to the depression in trade and the civil disobedience campaign the State railways lost £3,250,000 last year.
