GIGANTIC CUNARD LINER.

APPROACHING COMPLETION.

LAUNCHING THIS MONTH.

BIG PROBLEMS OVERCOME,

(OmciaJ Wireless.?

RUGBY, February

The new 70,000-tons Cunard liner may be ready for launching at the end of February, if the present expectations of Messrs John Brown and Co., builders, are realised. The work, both in the Clydeside yard and in tiie factories and foundries in the various industrial centres is progressing rapidly with day and night shifts. The transport of special parts from places as far distant as Darlington invited problems for which many solutions have 'been found. The rudder’s weight is 150 tons, requiring a specialiy prepared vessel to carry it from Hiddlesbrough to the Clyde. The gigantic size of the new liner is such that each funnel would contain the hulls of four steamers of the first Cunard fleet.
