STEADY DEMAND. SALE RATES MAINTAINED. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Alessrs Bucklands and Sons report: At Westfield they penned 381 head (251 steers, 130 cows and heifers), compared with 271 last week. There was a steady demand throughout,. and the values realised were on a par with late rates. Extra choice ox sold to 27s per 1001 b, choice and prime 23s to 265, secondary and plain 20s to 225, prime young cow and heifer beef 23s to 265, secondary 12s to 225. Extra heavy prime steers .ranged from £lO 10s to £ll 10s; heavy, £9 10s to £lO 7s 6d; lighter, £8 to £9 7s 6d; light, £6 15s to £7 17s 6d; small and unfinished, £4 10s to £6 12s 6d; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £7 15s to £8 12s 6d; heavy, £6 15s to £7 12s 6d; lighter, £5 to £6 12s 6d; other cows, £2 10s to £4 17s Gd. Alessrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Auckland reports: At our Westfield fat stock market to-day ox beef was yarded in average numbers. ,The demand was steady and late rates again ruled. Cow and heifer beef was also yarded in about usual numbers, .the demand being steady, with values on a par with late rates. Extra choice ox sold to 27s per 1001 b; choice and prime ox 24s to 265; secondary and plain, 21s to 235. Prime young cow and heifer beef, 23s to 265; ordinary cow beef, 12s to 225. Heavy prime steers made £9 12s Gd to £lO ss; lighter prime steers £8 2s 6d to £9 10s; light ditto, £6 17s 6d to £B. Small and unfinished steers, £5 to £6 15s; heavy prime cows and heifers, £6 10s to £7; lighter ditto, £5 5s to £6 7s Gd; other tillable cows, £2 10s to £5.
