IMPORTANT REGULATION,

FAILED TO GIVE WAY. MOTOR-CYCLIST FINED. “ This is just such a case that the regulation is meant to prevent happening,’’ remarked Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court this morning, when a youth, George Lindsay, appeared before him charged with failing to giva way to a vehicle approaching on his right, at an intersection. Evidence went to show that as a result of defendant’s negligence a collision with another motor-cyclist had occurred at the intersection of London and Selkirk Streets. Defendant pleaded that he considered there was sufficient time for him lo cross in front of the other machine. His Worship inflicting a fine of £2, with costs £1 3s, remarked that the regulation defendant had ignored was such an important one in driving that it was essential that it be enforced. Jt Avas not left to the judgmentment of a youth to calculate whether he could get across in time io avoid a collision. It was his duty to give way to a vehicle approaching on his right.
