SURPRISE PARTY.
On Tuesday evening a very jolly surprise party was taken to Mr and Mrs R. G. Clemow, Monavale, in honour of Miss Jessie Clemow, who is to be married shortly. The rooms were decorated with Iceland poppies and cherry blossom. During the evening the gifts in the form of kitchen utensils were opened by the bride-to-be. Dancing took place on the large verandah, and bridge was played in the sitting-room. Mrs Clemow received the guests wearing black lace and floral coatee. ■Among those present were:—Mesdames J. S. McLarnon, blue georgette ‘ and lace; J. Ferguson, wine ring velvet; Gorrie, black georgette; E. Skeet, pink frilled taffeta; G; Moore, green frilled organdie; Hart (Dunedin), cream velvet and tulle; N. Langton, daffodil, satin; B. Skeet, delphinium blue georgette; A. Speak, shell pink satin; D.
