ONE DAY TOURNAMENT, GOOD PLAY AT FRANKTON. CHAPMAN WINS THE RUBBER, The first one-day tournament of the new season was* conducted on the Frankton Club’s ?: green yesterday, when 16 teams, , representing Frankton, Hamilton, AVhitiora, Claudelands, Hamilton Glen Massey, Cambridge/ Ngaruawahia/ and Te Awamutu were engaged. The tournament was divided into five rounds oi 14 heads, and at the conclusion of the day’s play Chapman (Hamilton. East), had registered five successes,, thus winning the competition. Burton (Frankton) was runner-up with, foui wins. Following were the results, of tha concluding play:— Fifth Round. , Crawshavv 12, v. Coombes 12. Baker 20, v. James 18. Morris 13, v. McLean 7. Henderson 17, v. Heron 7. Chapman 14, v. Fraser Smith 7. Burton 17, v. Andrews 11. Carter 18, v. Metcalfe 12, Frost 12, v. Whitten 11. The position of the teams at the end of the day’s play was as follows:
