WRESTLING.

BOUTS AT FRANKTON. A good attendance of enthusiasts were treated to an interesting evening’s wrestling at Newton’s Gymnasium, at Frankton, last night. A. E. Newton, senr., ga!ve a clever exhibition of club-swinging. An exhibition of the various tackles and holds used in present-day wrestling was then staged by A. .Newton and A. E. Webb. Exhibition wrestling by S. Auehor and A. Newton, and later by T. Robinson (Kawhia) and A. Newton created much interest. The following bouts of three-minute rounds were then contested: R. Allport (Pirongia) and A. Webb (Hamilton), getting one fall each. C. Woolston (Pirongia) defeated I. Page (Hamilton) with a fall in the final round. No falls were claimed in the bout between L. V. Rulford (Pirongia) and A. Newton (Hamilton). Cl Woolston (Pirongia) won the decision over I. Duncan .(Hamilton) with one fall to his credit. Mr. F. Williams was referee.
