METROPOLITAN CLUB. ACCEPTORS FOR FIRST DAY. GOOD FIELDS ENGAGED. ■> (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The following are the acceptances for the first day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Meeting, which opens at Addington next Tuesday :

TE AROHA CLUB. PAST SEASON REVIEWED. The annual meeting of members of the Te Aroha Trotting Club is to be held on Friday. The proflt and loss account for the year ended July 31 shows receipts £3248 19s lid and expenditure £3186 17s 3d, leaving a proflt of £62 2s Bd. The cash assets of the club total £1638 6s Id after £l9l 9s lOd had been voted for course improvements. The annual report states that the turnover amounted to £15,319 10s, as against £14,459 10s for the 1929 meeting. The annual race meeting will be held on Saturday, May 9, 1931. Owing to the formation of the new race track, it was found impossible to arrange an earlier date but as the meeting will lake place between the meetings of Cambridge and Waikato Trotting Clubs it is hoped that the circuit so formed will be appreciated and well patronised by ownersTo Race on New Track. The next race meeting will be held on the new track" recently completed by the Te Aroha Jockey Club. It is confidently expected that the facilities now provided will be greatly appreciated by members and patrons and that owners will freely avail themselves of the opportunity of racing their horses on what is considered by experts to be one of the most up-to-date race tracks in New Zealand. Obituary. It is with great regret that the committee have to record the death of the secretary, Mr G. A. Bush. Mr Bush had attended to the affairs of the Club for the past two years in a thoroughly efficient /and painstaking manner and his courteous attention to his duties was much appreciated by all those with whom he came in contact. The committee also record with regret the death of one of our honorary surgeons, Dr. N. H. Dempster, whose services have been always greatly appreciated by the club. Election of Offloers. The tiring officers, viz., president, Mr R. L. Somers, vice-presidents, Messrs P. Baine, R. Burke, and 11. E. D. Willcox, treasurer, Mr G. H. Deverell, and three members of the committee, Messrs G. L. Burmester, C. V. Carley, and F. T. Rowe, have been again nominated 'for the respective officesMr W. 11. Cunningham, a former member of the committee, did not seek reelection owing to having left the district. In his place Mr J. A. Ilepburn has been nominated and as the nominations for the various offices do not exceed the vacancies the above men(Contlnued in next column.)
